Evans Hangs His Boots With No Regrets

Cycling great Cadel Evans’ retirement decision might have saddened his fans and the cycling world but the legendary Aussie rider has confirmed of no regrets as hung his boots. In fact, he has no doubt that it is the best time for him to retire.

The vivacious cheer that greeted him at post-race presentation of Down Under Tour was the live testimony of the iconic rider’s legendary career- that most possibly has no parallel.

However, a near-disaster at the last stage of the race remind him that there are certain things that he won’t be missing about his beloved sport. The Tour France champ somehow managed to bypass a bad crash on 2nd final lap of that stage race at Adelaide.

“I did hear the crash & a bike struck me in backside…Lucky I was that day that my bike was not damaged”, remarked Cadel.

“Anything can & does get wrong here in cycling.”

Whilst Cadel would have preferred to come up with a better performance than overall 3rd in his final Down Under Tour yet he is pretty comfortable with the fact that he tried his best to achieve one big result in his last race. Continue reading →

Life After Retirement For Cadel Evans

Cadel Evans has retired from the cycling world and the name of the event has been named after it.

The inaugural session covered 174 kilometres titled as the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road started in Geelong which received tremendous success ensured that race has a bright future which will go long for many years to come.

The race is going to maintain its popularity and can get best status by the International cycling Union. The race is the second best after Australian world race titled as Tour Down Under. After the tour titled as Cadel Evans, next tours which included women were held. Evans thought that with three finishes of the hilly circuit some amount of suspense and surprise were held in store. The Australian board of cycling believes that European tours can learn a lot from their tours.

To have a tour under his name is big achievement in itself. His career saw many ups and downs which was exciting in itself. Retirement has its own joys and he can do many things which was not possible for him to do at the time of his cycling days but now he has got plenty of time to fulfil all his desires which he for so long wanted to fulfil. Oakley working with Cadel Evans and 4DESIGN To Make Futuristic Handlebars

Oakley is working together with Cadel Evans and 4DESIGN, an Australian Design Company for making cycle handlebars that will have futuristic features.

Cadel Evans said that the handlebar they’re working on is like a Science Fiction product but he said that unlike Science Fiction, these handlebars will become reality. The model will have an aerodynamic design and they will also have foldable forearm support that can be added to a bike meant for time trials.

The model will also have a camera at the front as well as one on the back. The cameras will keep track of the movement of the riders and the rider would be able to see the data on the OLED Screen which will be placed on the bars. Continue reading →
